Audition Classes

Elite Youth Intensive

Registration is now open for our Audition Classes. Below are the audition dates, locations, and times:

New Jersey Ballet Studios (NJ)

  • Sunday, February 23, 2025

  • 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm (Ages 8-10)

  • 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm (Ages 11-13)

Audition Details

All students will be considered for the Elite Youth Intensive Program based on age and technical eligibility during the audition.

  • Pre-registration is only available at Audition Registration 

  • Payments can be made by credit card.

  • Girls 8 to 13 are expected to have previous ballet training and should wear a leotard (any style and color), tights, and ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled off the face, in a bun. Dancers should bring pointe shoes, if en pointe.

  • Boys 8 to 13 are expected to have previous ballet training and should wear a white shirt, black tights, and ballet shoes.

  • All applicants must submit two photos on the application form: one in tendu à la seconde and one in relevé first arabesque. Photos do not have to be professionally taken and should be taken in practice clothes. 

  • Classes are offered for specific age groups.

  • You must register with the age group you are on the day of the audition and audition according to the age you are on the day of the audition.

  • A COVID-19 vaccination will not be required for auditions.

  • Parents will not be allowed to observe the audition.

  • Students can expect to take a one hour-and-a-half (1hr 30min) ballet class with a 30-minute check-in process.

  • All students will receive email notification of the results within 7 days after their audition.

  • Admitted students will be provided with instructions for registration to the Elite Youth Intensive Program. 

  • After you complete a pre-registration for a particular audition class or video registration, and your plans change, you may switch between an in-person and a video audition. To make this switch please contact us at info@njballet.org

  • Results will not be given over the phone.

  • If accepted into the program, you will be required to submit proof of age.

If you cannot attend in person, don’t worry, video submissions are also accepted.

PRICING 

  • $35 Pre-Registration Audition Fee.

  • All audition fees are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable regardless of circumstance. 

Day of registrations (walk-ins) are accepted.*

  • $40 Walk-In Registration Fee.

*Space may be tight, so pre-registration is highly recommended.
